In this performance I continue to work with the magical potential of the stage and some of my favorite things: dancing, writing and creating situations. The title of the work is a quote from a speech by Lana Wachowski, sampled by Burial in the track “Come down to us”, 2013.
Jatketaan tanssia ja tanssia ja tanssia, kunnes on vain tanssia?
Ei vain kierrellä säädeltyä aikaa, vaan aktiivisesti sekoitetaan sitä?
Juhlitaan aaveiden kanssa?
Tässä esityksessä jatkan työskentelyä näyttämön taianomaisen potentiaalin ja lempiasioideni parissa: tanssin, kirjoitan ja luon tilanteita. Teoksen nimi on lainaus Lana Wachowskin puheesta, jota Burial samplasi kappaleessa “Come down to us”, 2013.
Emmi Venna works as a choreographer, performer, writer and as a part of curatorial teams. Venna’s processes combine curiosity towards the experience of a lived body, researching dance and art histories, playing with fictional dimensions, and searching for the magical potential of the performance situation. Most recent works include the performance Kitchen Sink (Sinne, 2022), commissioned choreography CORE for the TaDaC collective (TeaK/Zodiak 2021) and the solo work Fabulous Muscles (Mad House Helsinki/Ehkä production, 2020)
Emmi Venna työskentelee koreografina, esiintyjänä, kirjailijana ja osana kuraattoritiimejä. Vennan prosesseissa yhdistyvät uteliaisuus eletyn kehon kokemusta kohtaan, tanssi- ja taidehistorian tutkiminen, fiktioilla leikittely ja esitystilanteen maagisen potentiaalin etsintä. Viimeisimpiä teoksia ovat Kitchen Sink -performanssi (Sinne, 2022), tilauskoreografia CORE TaDaC-kollektiiville (TeaK/Zodiak 2021) ja sooloteos Fabulous Muscles (Mad House Helsinki/Ehkä tuotanto, 2020).
